A: Academy Fitness Bootcamp coaches are dedicated to helping you achieve your fitness goals. Before your first training session, we will meet with you about your personal fitness goals and develop an action plan for achieving them.

In addition to providing you with nutritional counseling and a sustainable meal plan to help you make a healthy lifestyle change, we also monitor the progress you make towards your fitness goals with monthly body composition analyses and bi-monthly fitness assessments.

Q: What are the classes like?
A: Every training session is fun and different! We use a variety of effective tools in our fitness boot camp classes and combine resistance training, cardio conditioning, core strengthening and functional movement, and high intensity interval training (HIIT). We also offer kickboxing and jump rope conditioning classes.

Many women in the Academy Fitness Bootcamp program also choose to take advantage of the Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and mixed martial arts classes offered through The Academy. Access to world-class martial arts classes is one of the many benefits of Academy Fitness Bootcamp for Women.

Q: What is Muay Thai, anyway? Is it like Tae Bo/Tai Chi/Tae Kwon Do?
A: Muay Thai, or Thai Boxing, is the national sport of Thailand. It is called the “Art of Eight-Limbed Warrior” because it uses the full body to attack, including arms, legs, elbows, and knees. The Academy Fitness Bootcamp for Women contains aspects of Muay Thai for a fun cardio workout that is great for developing lean muscle mass and shedding weight.

Q: What is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu?

A: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art, combat sport, and self-defense system that focuses on fighting on the ground. In BJJ a smaller person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger person by using leverage and proper technique. BJJ helps develop body awareness, flexibility, and core strength.

Q: What if I’m not interested in martial arts?
A: Many students choose to do only the boot camp classes, and that’s great!

Q: What if I don’t have time to exercise?
A: At the Academy Fitness Bootcamp for Women, our workouts are designed to maximize results in a short amount of time. Classes are only one hour long and with a variety of class times there are sure to be some that fit into your schedule. Whether you’re available morning or night, we’ve got you covered!

Q: What should I bring to class?
A: Comfortable workout clothes, sneakers, a water bottle, and a towel.

Q: Should I go on a diet?

A: We provide you with customized and sensible eating guidelines. These guidelines are easy to follow because they are designed just for you, so you can make healthy eating a permanent lifestyle.

Q: I’ve never worked out before. Can I still attend the Academy Fitness Bootcamp?
A: Absolutely! We can modify any workout so that it challenges you at your fitness level.

Q: I have an injured knee/wrist/back/other body part, can I still train?
A: We can design exercises to work around your injury so you can keep up with the rest of the team

Q: How many sessions a week should I attend to see results?
A: We recommend that you attend at least two boot camp sessions per week and follow our healthy and satisfying meal plan. Once you’re ready, you can add additional fitness boot camp, or kickboxing classes to your training regimen. You even have the opportunity to join The Academy’s Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or mixed martial arts classes!

Q: Do you offer private training sessions?
A: Yes. We have many different training packages available. Private lessons are an excellent way to work on specific techniques or to supplement other training. Do you want to do a pull-up or a handstand? Do you want to improve your marathon time? Do you want to beat a record you set for yourself? Then private lessons may be the answer!
